Brijmohan Sadanah, a well-known Indian veteran Hindi film producer and director, also credited as Brij, was born on 6th October 1933, in Gujranwala, Punjab which is now in Pakistan. Brij's family moved to Meerut after the partition. He is one of the most successful producers in the Hindi film industry. In the 60s and 80s, he delivered some memorable box office hit films. Brijmohan's directorial debut film Nai Rahen was released in 1959. He produced 'Ustadon ke Ustad' in 1963 and it was well received by the audiences and brought him to the limelight as a filmmaker. Brijmohan also popularized the romantic thriller subgenre in Hindi films such as Yeh Raat Phir Na Aayegi(1966), Night In London (1967), Victoria No. 203 (1972), Chori Mera Kaam(1975), Bombay 405 Miles(1980).
He also played screen roles in various films such as Vachan, Night In London, and Do Bhai. He appeared as a police inspector in the film 'Do Bhai'. Brijmohan is a man who perfectly balanced romance with action in his films. This renowned filmmaker suffered a major setback and mental health issues from his failure in the film Magroor (1979), and Oonche Log (1985). His last successful film was 'Mardon Wali Baat' which came out after a jinx of flops. Brij's life with his wife was like a thriller movie with some romantic elements.
He married an actress named Sayeeda Khan despite family opposition and had two children, Kamal and Namrata. 21 October 1990, on the occasion of his son's 20th birthday Brij, committed suicide after shooting his wife Sayeeda and daughter Namrata and also injuring his son Kamal who was also an actor. Though Brijmohan produced so many happy ending films, he did not make his own life a happy ending.
