Ram Prasad was born on 11th June 1897 in Shahjahanpur, North-Western Provinces, British India. Pen names used by Ram Prasad are Ram Agyat and Bismil. Ram Prasad is known for his Hindi Poem Manipuri Ki Pratigya. Bismil had translated the books Catherine from English and Bolshevikon Ki Kartoot from Bengali. Ram Prasad published a collection of his poems in the Sushil Mala series while living underground, which includes Man Ki Lahar, Swadeshi Rang, and Swadhinta Ki Devi. Bismil was a founding member of the revolutionary organization Hindustan Republican Association.
Ram Prasad Bismil wrote his Autobiography while he had been in Gorakhpur jail as a condemned prisoner. The Autobiography was published by Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi in 1928 with the title Kakori Ke Shaheed. Bismil also fought against the British Raj by participating in the Manipuri Conspiracy of 1918 and in the Kakori Conspiracy of 1925. Ram Prasad Bismil hanged on 19th December 1927 in Gorakhpur Jail, United Provinces, British India. Bismil’s body was taken for a Hindu Cremation to the Rapti, and the site is known as Rajghat.
After the Death of Ram Prasad Bismil a memorial at Khirni Bagh mohalla was established by Shaheed Smarak Samiti of Shahjahanpur and named it Amar Shaheed Ram Prasad Bismil Smarak. Pt Ram Prasad Railway Station built in the Northern Railway zone of Indian Railways. A Multicolored commemorative Postal Stamp was issued by the Government of India on 19th December 1997 in Bismil’s Birth centenary year. A park was named Amar Shaheed Pt. Ram Prasad Bismil udyan near Rampur jagir Village by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
