Arun Kamal is an Indian poet famous for his works in Hindi. He was born in 1954 and showed an early interest in poetry and literature. He has done his schooling in Bihar and has contributed more to Hindi literature. He is a poet of the contemporary period well known for his poems. Likewise, he has translated some of his books into English and has written on literary criticism. He won the Sahitya Academy Award in the year 1998, which is considered the most prestigious literary award in India.
His notable publications include Apni Kevel Dhar, Saboot, and Naye Ilake Mein, poetry collections. Kavita Aur Samay is a work about literary criticism, and Voices is an anthology of poetry translated into English. Arun Kamal's work's original texts are to be in Hindi. He has participated in the Afro-Asian Young Writers' conference in Brazzaville.
