Pushpa Hans was an Indian playback singer of the Hindi film industry. She has given many hit songs to the Hindi film industry. She received the fourth highest Indian civilian award of the Padma Shri.
Pushpa Hans was born on 30 November 1917 at Fazilka in Punjab to a lawyer. She did her secondary studies at a Local school, later she graduated herself in music at Lahore. Pushpa started her career as a Radio Jockey at the Lahore All India Radio Station, and then Hans got a chance to sing for a film in the Hindi film industry. She also acted in many Hindi films in the lead role. One of the notable films is “Apna Desh,” a Hindi film directed by V. Shantaram.
The Indian Government awarded her the Padma Shri award in 2007 for the extraordinary performance and her contributions to cinema. Hans also received a couple of awards in the same year. Pushpa Hans married Hans Raj Chopra, a colonel in the Indian Army.
