Subhankar Bandyopadhyay is a highly talented Bengali tabla artist. He arranged every year an annual event for his Kajalrekha Music Foundation. This event is conducted every year for his mother in her memory as she had a physical disability of polio. Subhankar's mother suffered a disability of polio, and his father is a government servant and occasionally played tabla. They lived a ordinary life. Bandyopadhyay got inspired by his father to pursue music and its essence. His mother used to be a vocalist and his father played tabla when they both used to rehearse together. His parents had a deep interest in the art of music, which led to the birth of an artist. At four, Subhankar Bandyopadhyay parents sent him to their neighbor to learn to play tabla.
Later he trained for 25 years under the guidance of Pandit Swapan Shiva from Farrukhabad. Bandyopadhyay traveled abroad for nine months when he got the exposure and learned music lessons at an advanced level. He won the youngest top-grade tabla player of All India Rank, Nobel Peace Prize Concert, Asian Fantasy concert, and Symphony Orchestra. Unfortunately, Subhankar Bandyopadhyay, at the age of 54, due to COVID - 19, could not live long. He stayed hospitalized for two months and was survived by his daughter, wife, and Son.
