Prashant Mistry is a London-based music producer, mix and mastering engineer of Indian origin. He is famous for his work on the album Symbol, which was nominated for the Best Immersive Audio Album at the 61st Grammy Awards. Although he is associated with Hindi music production, Prashant’s roots are in Rajkot, Gujarat. He was born in the UK to parents who were refugees from Uganda in the 1970s. Prashant started his bass collective, Engine Earz Experiment in 2009, known for incorporating traditional live instruments with electronic and machine counterparts. His music often reflects his Indian classical music upbringing while heavily influenced by electronic music, naturally creating a fusion of the two.
His nomination at the Grammys was a significant milestone. The recognition meant a great deal to him as the Grammys are voted for by a selection of peers including some of the finest musicians and engineers in the world.
