Girish Makwana is a musician and director born in Gujarat, India. Girish is now an Australian resident. Girish studied biology however, he dropped it midway to pursue a career in music. Girish went to MS University in Baroda, Gujarat, and completed an undergraduate and master’s degree in music. He has trained in Indian classical and western music. Girish further went to RMIT University in Melbourne to study filmmaking. He studied Media and screenplay and earned a degree in Film and Television Production. Girish owns the label GK Makwana Films set up in Australia since 1995. It produces documentaries and short films. The films made by Girish include The Color of Darkness (2015), short films titled
