Alick Sethi

Alick Sethi is an Indian Music supervisor and DJ who predominantly works in the Indian and European music industries. In 1996, he completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Science with a specialization in Chemistry from the Imperial College of London and then went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Structure and Reactivity in Ionic Liquids from the same institute. While still in college, Alick Sethi found himself irresistibly drawn to the vibrant underground club culture that was sweeping through the London music scene.

This newfound passion led him to launch his own radio show, The Electric Café. Alick Sethi began working part-time as a Radio Disc Jockey at the Student Broadcast Network (SBN). This marked his first step into the world of music as a profession. The Electric Café quickly gained popularity and was eventually picked up by a national UK station. Alick Sethi continued to host and produce the show for almost eight years.

 As his radio success grew, it fueled his desire to explore a career in the emerging realms of sync, production, and licensing. In 2016, Alick Sethi met Tomas Szabo, who is a highly accomplished film and TV composer and renowned singer-songwriter of Hungary's most successful indie pop/rock bands. Inspired by their shared passion for music and a mutual vision, the two joined forces to establish Central Publishing.

This company was focused on synchronization by representing small independent labels and unsigned artists, arranging for their music to be used in TV commercials and movies, and it simultaneously served as a platform to showcase the exceptional talents and thriving indie music scene of Central Europe. As a co-founder, Alick Sethi works as a Director and also deals with A&R. 

In Jan 2004, Alick Sethi founded his own company, Retox Music, where he works as a Music supervisor. In this role, he collaborates with creators of visual media, such as filmmakers, television producers, advertisers, and those involved in online content and video games. Alick Sethi’s work mainly revolves around curating and creating the perfect musical accompaniment for various forms of visual media, ensuring that it aligns with the creators' goals and budgets.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated with global brands such as T-Mobile, Vodafone, McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Mercedes-Benz, Sony Playstation, TRESemmé, Pantene, and many more big names. Alick Sethi has also worked in Bollywood as a part of the music department for the TV series ‘Guns & Gulaabs’ (2023).
