Abhishek Venkat is popularly known as Abby V. He is a Singer, Songwriter, Composer, Music Producer, and Audio Engineer. Abby Venkatachalam, born in India to South Indian parents, spent nearly all of his childhood in Toronto, where he lives. His father, Venky Venkatachalam, who worked for the local suburban trains, enjoyed singing Hindi and Tamil movie jingles and was a regular performer in bands in North America that played them throughout the abroad. Abby would do karaoke with his father while singing pop, rhythm, and blues songs from Indian movie jingles. On stage, he sang songs with him as well. His debut appearance was on his seventh birthday. He completed his schooling at the Gordon Gray din Memorial Secondary School. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services Two-Year Diploma and a music performance diploma and technology from Metalworks Institute.
The first video in which Abby publicly displayed himself online was '73 Ragas'. He took his time entering the online world. Abby has worked as a freelance professional vocalist and performer in Canada. He worked in extensive studio and performance expertise in R&B, pop, jazz, funk, Western music, South Asian classical music, Bollywood (Hindi) and Kollywood (Tamil) film music, ghazals, and other genres. He also worked on creating, digitally producing, and recording unique music professionally for various albums, occasions, and organizations. Hits by Abby include Beethe Din (2017), You Got What You Paid For (2017), and Mella Mella from Maayavan (2017). (HP Printers - CBC Radio 2018). Abby has created soundtracks, sound effects, and film scores for movies, television programs, and documentaries in India and Canada.
The 2017 Indo-Canadian film Punch Panchangam Pariharam, released in theatres throughout North America to tremendous critical praise and strong box office performance, is among his works. Abby works as a vocal coach, classical music instructor, and researcher. He offers workshops and weekly lessons to students around Ontario in Hindustani classical, Carnatic classical, and voice strategies and maintenance. He produced and created many research papers, articles, and journals on vocal production, Indian Classical Music, and voice maintenance and improvement. Publications from groups across Canada, such as the Bharathi Kala Manram in Ontario and the Carnatic Youth Organization of Canada, have appeared in several festivals and journals (CYSC). He has worked as a marketing intern at the Karma Corporation.
In 2020, Abby V composed a music video, 73 Ragas with Abby V, which showed his interest in Raga, in Carnatic Music. The song became a huge success and trended on YouTube. He also works with a musical band in America and Canada and creates new music with them from time to time. He is inspired by musical artists like Usher, Justin Timberlake “Tearin’ up My Heart” remembering one of their big >> Read More... , and Bobby Brown. Abby V also gives Ted Talks on his love for classical and fusion music to aspiring musicians, which are motivating. He also tours all over India with his band and performs in several concerts. Abby V is active on social media and often posts several updates about his musical and personal life.
