Yashodhara Katju was an Indian actress with origins in Kashmir. She was one of the few actresses from Kashmir to join Bollywood. She was born on 15th April in the year 1928 to a Kashmiri Pandit family. Her father was a politician and a famous Congressman. Her mother was a multi-lingual poet. Yashodhara’s acting career started at the age of 14 when she was offered the movie Lalaji. She wanted to become an actress since the very beginning but against the wishes of her family. She acted in a total of 85 films throughout her career. She married Bhandari who was a naval officer. Her career spanned only 34 years as she died at the very young age of 46 in 1974 because of a heart attack. Her last movie was `Do Phool’ in the year 1974.
