Ramya Sri

Ramya is a Kannada actress, born in the district of Coorg, Karnataka. She did her schooling in the cities of Bangalore and Mumbai. She completed her graduation from Jyoti Nivas College, Bangalore and acquired the degree in the course of Travel and Tourism. Before pursuing acting, she started off her career in BPO in Navi Mumbai for a year as a customer service executive. In 2010, along with her acting career; she was pursuing her MBA course from Sikkim Manipal University. According to her, Ramya did never think of taking the profession of acting as a career. It was her friends who motivated her to accept the industry offers. Then, she was chosen to be the second heroine of her first movie ‘Hani Hani’ which came in 2008. Later, she also acted in Neenyare directed by Sandesh. Both these movies got her the nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress-Kannada. Before stepping into the Kannada industry, she also tried her luck in the Tamil (Mathiya Chennai) and Telugu (Kshudra) films. She could perform varying roles beautifully, one among them was that of a music teacher; played in Nannedeya Haadu. Like all industry actors, not every movie offered to them is of their interest; Ramya also had to act in a song under some unfavorable circumstances in Nee Bandhu Ninthaaga. Apart from Kannada, Tamil and Telugu cinema, Ramya had also acted well in Tulu films. Oriyardori Asal, her Tulu film was a blockbuster hit of that time and was highly appreciated by critics.
