Elahe Hiptoola is an Indian film actress, costume designer and producer. She was born in Mumbai but raised up in Hyderabad since she was two months old. She studied at Nasr School in Hyderabad, St Francis and later attended Law at Government Law College in Mumbai. Elahe has learnt piano, kathak and horseback riding. She got married to Vidyut Jaisimha, the son of the cricketer M.L. Jaisimha; but their marriage lasted for two and a half years only.Â
She took up a law course, but she did not practice it. She founded her very first fashion store ‘Elahe’ in Hyderabad, which housed the collections of designers like

and more. In 1999, she sold the boutique and that’s when the filmdom happened at her. She was associated with film producer and director
Nagesh Kukunoor
. She worked with Kukunoor in films like Hyderabad Blues, 3 Deewarein, Rockford 3, Bollywood Calling, Hyderabad Blues 2, Dor, Iqbal, and Bombay to Bangkok, 8x10 Tasveer, Aashayein, Rockford, Mod, Three Walls, Dhanak and Lakshmi. Out of all the movies, only the 8x10 Tasveer is the film she didn’t produce, because she was busy with Aashayein at that time, but she says, she’s a hands-on producer and also an assistant director to Kukunoor.Â
In year 2010, Elahe started Lamakaan, a non-profit open cultural center in Hyderabad, which aims to provide space for several events like arts, theater, literature, music, debates, etc. She also felt that the city needs a center where the youth can express their opinions.Â
Elahe has been in and out of the country for the promotions of her films. She finds filmmaking an opportunity to connect with new people. She thanked the industry for leading her to know Husain Saab, who taught her Urdu poetry and
