Anchal Singh the young Bollywood actress is relatively new to filmdom, but in the short span that she has been in films, she has achieved a unique feat, having acted in a foreign film before entering the world of Hindi films. Having been brought up in an Air Force family in Chandigarh, and subsequently in Bangalore, her moorings have been quite liberal, therefore, it may not have been difficult for her to make her parents agree to her pursuing a career in show business. Along with studies, she actively practiced western dance forms, and also got groomed in modelling. Incidentally, she is supposed to possess extra sensory powers to foresee things, and can also foretell things reading ‘Tarot Cards’. It is said she has already acquired international fame in these occult lines. Her first cinematic appearance, however, was in the Sri Lankan film “Shri Siddhartha Goutama” in which she was the leading lady performing the role of princess Yashodhara. Due to the significance of the subject in Sri Lanka, and her mature performance in the film, she received lot of kudos including a special commendation of her role by the then President of Sri Lanka. However, preceding this achievement of hers, her career into acting had commenced on a relatively low key manner through the route of TV commercials after she had made up her mind to relocate to Mumbai. In fact, offers for TV commercials were numerous, resulting in her completing almost 60 TV commercials in the short span of a year, including those for corporate and commercial houses, starting with one for Dena Bank. Her Bollywood career, though just in its initial stages, has been quite impressive even in the short period that she has been into it. Her very first Hindi film, “ Ramaiya Vastavaiya Click to look into! >> Read More... ” which was released in 2013, has been a huge success, and the role played by her in the film was also not an insignificant one. Close on the heels of the same, came the release of her next film “Holiday: A Soldier Never Dies”, which also happened to be one of the biggest box office hits in the first half of 2014. With two super hits against her name in such a short span of time, it may not require Anchal to fall back upon her clairvoyance to foresee a promising future for her in filmdom!.
