Sharat Saxena was born on 17th August 1950 in Satna, Madhya Pradesh. At the beginning of his career, he wanted to become a hero. But later, due to his bulky appearance, he got only the roles of henchman. In 1973, he starred in his first movie Benaam.
After that, he has starred in around 250 films. Nearly in 180 films he starred as a villain/henchman. He was first identified in the movie Boxer, where he got paired against Mithun Chakraborthy. The fight scene in the film Boxer is praised even now.
He claims that, only after watching Boxer,
was impressed by him and insisted him to play the villain in the 1998 Blockbuster- Ghulam. The role of Ronnie fetched him a nomination for Best Villain in Filmfare Awards. He also starred in the famous B. R. Chopra TV adaptation of Mahabharata. He played the role of Kichaka.
Currently, he is residing in Mumbai with his wife Shoba Saxena and with his son and daughter Veer and Vishal Saxena.
