With the mention of Anup Shukla and others of his ilk, one is reminded of a rapidly growing segment in the world of Indian movies. While Anup Shukla is an actor in Hindi films on his own merits, what specialises him is his dubbing skill. With the simultaneous release of Hollywood movies in India, demand for high quality lip synched dubbing has become a high priority and lucrative segment in Indian cinema. In fact, dubbing had been more prevalent in the industry in the south due to the multilingual versions that are made frequently over there, and also the regular inflow of artistes from the North with their inadequate knowledge of the local languages. However, the real boom must have come with the advent of Hollywood movies in multiple Indian languages, making the voice-over and dubbing industry grow many fold in the country.
