Sonal Singh Chauhan is an Indian model, actress, and singer. Born in Delhi, India on May 16, 1987, she is the first Indian to receive Miss World Tourism title and to be crowned as the prestigious Miss World Tourism 2005 at Miri, Malaysia. After doing her schooling from Delhi Public School, Noida, she pursued passed out as a Philosophy honors graduate from Gargi College, New Delhi.
She has two sisters and a brother and her father works in the Police. Singer-Actor Himesh Reshammiya's music album Aap Ka Suroor is what gave Sonal's acting career a kick-start.
Kunal Deshmukh, the director of the film Jannat, in which she gave her awesome debut performance, took notice of her through the music album and offered her the lead role opposite actor
Emraan Hashmi in the movie.
She was even nominated for the Best Female Debut (for her performance in Jannat) in the Filmfare Awards. Since then, her acting career has gone upwards only. She is starring not only in Bollywood but in Telugu and Kannada movies too.
Soon after the release of Jannat, was she offered a role in Rainbow, viz. a Telugu movie by the director V.N. Aditya. Her filmography includes mainstream Bollywood movies like Jannat, Pehla Sitara, and 3G, and at the same time, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil movies, like Rainbow, Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu, Legend, Pangada Chesko,
Size Zero, Dictator too. Apart from being a successful actress, the 28-year old is a prominent Indian fashion model too.
In addition to walking the ramp for several fashion shows, she has also appeared in the advertisements and print campaigns of many leading Indian brands, like Nokia, DishTv, LG, Hindustan Times, Hero Honda Passion.
