Nikita Tanwani

Nikita Tanwani is an Indian model who was recently crowned the FBB Colors Femina Miss India Miss India was a TV serial that was aired on Doord >> Read More... Andhra Pradesh 2019. She was also the winner of the fifth season of The Great Pageant Community’s Miss India reality competition. She was born in India but raised in the USA. She completed her schooling, part in San Jose, and part in Jaipur.

As a child, she was an avid reader, skilled painter and gifted table tennis player. She graduated with majors in Mathematics and Electronics & Instrumentation from the prestigious BITS Pilani College in Pilani, Rajasthan.

Her interest in modeling peaked when she was thirteen and started becoming actively involved in fashion societies and clubs in her school and college. She joined the Cocoaberry Ramp Walk Training and Pageant Grooming Institute, where she received her pageant grooming under the recognized models, Alesia and Anjali Raut. On her seventeenth birthday, she was involved in a horrific incident where her driver tried to molest her. She was on her way back home from her usual coaching classes but the driver detoured to a dark dead end and pulled the black windows up. He began touching her inappropriately.

Nikita tried running but in vain. However, seeing the resistance she was putting up, the driver gave up on his criminal attempt and drove her back home. Later he continued to threaten her for the next four months, telling her to keep silent about the incident lest he should hurt her younger brother.

Soon Nikita moved to Pilani to study at BITS but the driver stalked her there as well and called her from different mobile numbers. He would even drive outside her house when she was home during festivals. Eventually, he stopped, and things went back to normal. Nikita expressed that the event had scarred her for life, and since then she has been afraid of sitting in cars with black tinted windows.

Nikita has featured in photoshoots for various fashion magazines and brands. She will represent Andhra Pradesh in the upcoming Miss India 2019 pageant.
