Waris Singh Ahluwalia is a famous Indian-American designer, and actor. He is based in New York Click to look into! >> Read More... City. His birth place is Amritsar, Punjab, India, where he was brought up in a Punjabi Sikh family from the Ahluwalia caste in 1974. When he was only five, his family migrated to the US from India and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He is in New York City but lives in Los Angeles. Ahluwalia started his company, House of Waris Rare, in 2013 and marked its opening at Gritti Palace in Venice.

He has collaborated with a number of other designers and artists throughout the years. This company was born as a result of Maxfield's in Los Angeles noticing Ahluwalia's diamond rings and placing an order, which sold out. For Valentine's Day, he rolled out a line called 'Boo,' referring to it as a term of affection. To promote the line, he commissioned nine artists and filmmakers to make short films titled You're my Boo, including Phillip Andelman, Casey Neistat, Brett Stabler, Ben Watts, Hailey Gates, John Forté, Mick Rock, and Matthew Frost.

He collaborated with Illesteva Eyewear on a line of sunglasses that launched in April 2013.The sunglasses are made in France and are available in four colors. In 2013, as one of the most photographed men in the city, Ahluwalia modeled for GAP. A pop-up tea room called House of Waris Botanicals was opened by him in 2019 and it is located in Chelsea. Wari began filmmaking with The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004), directed by Wes Anderson, and starring Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Anjelica Huston, and Cate Blanchett.

He played a part in the critically acclaimed The Grand Budapest Hotel that Wes Anderson directed. On October 16, 2015, his film Beeba Boys, which was directed by Deepa Mehta and starred Randeep Hooda, was released. In 2010, Waris was listed among the International Best-Dressed List's honorees by Vanity Fair. Waris Ahluwalia is well-known for The Darjeeling Limited (2007), Inside Man (2006) and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004).
