Govind Kumar Singh

Govind Kumar Singh is an Indian fashion designer born in the Supaul district in Bihar. He did his fashion designing course at the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Bangalore. Govind has been working as an assistant professor in NIFT, Shillong, since 2015. In 2009, he took part in Let’s Design, a Fashion reality show on Zoom TV. The competition is to make clothes within the stipulated time with the given materials, and it should have some theme too. Cotton Council International sponsored the fashion reality show. Govind won the award for the best prêt-à-porter garment, but he didn’t win the show.

At the NIFT Graduation Fashion show held in 2010, he designed a unique clothing pattern and won the Most Creative and Innovative Design Collection Award. In 2011, he again took part in the reality show, Let’s Design’s second season. This time, Govind attracted the judges with his unique design and won the show. He designed the Haute Couture, the custom-fit clothing. After winning the Let’s Design Show, he launched his label, Rainush. He was much interested in teaching the rural women of Assam about fashion design. In 2012 – 2013, he hosted fashion design programs for women and developed their skills in the fashion side. Being a celebrated fashion designer, he hosts various shows, and varieties of his designer wear worn by the models at the Fashion contests and shows prove his versatility.

Govind had worked with Aditya Birla Group’s Arvind Lifestyle Brand. He had been working in Myntra in various designations since 2015. In 2020, he was appointed as the Deputy Director in the Designing sector in Myntra. Since January 2021, Govind has been the Advisory Committee Member of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in Vadodara, Gujarat.
