Ekta Chaudhary

Ekta Chaudhary is an entrepreneur, teacher, gardener, and a YouTube-r based in Mumbai. She completed her graduation from Miranda House in 2020 with a B.Sc. in life sciences. Ekta did her post-graduation at the Forest Research Institute in Environmental Studies. She has a Ph.D. in ecology from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. She started her career as a researcher and has spent almost a decade studying ecology and sustainable farming practices among communities in the Himalayas. After completing her Ph.D., she decided to make a career in digital media, education and entertainment through her YouTube channel, Garden Up.

Started in 2017, Garden Up provides informative content on urban gardening. The channel has over a million followers. Ekta began her own company, Garden Up Pvt. Ltd. in 2018. It is an online store that offers plant setup and maintenance services, serving large gated communities and corporate offices in Mumbai. She also has a second YouTube channel in Hindi, which takes the audience behind the scenes of Garden Up, the company. In 2021, she started gardening courses and classes on different platforms. Their Skillshare course is the most watched course on the platform from India. Ekta’s book ‘Garden Up’ was published by Penguin Random House in 2022. The book became the best seller in its category in India.
