Shubhavi Arya

Shubhavi Arya was born on October 7, 1998 at New Delhi, Delhi, India. She is a film director and animator by profession. She is quite famous for making “Adventures of Malia” an animated film at a very young age of 16. The movie was so appreciated that it got nominated for 11 international film awards. At colorTape International Film Festival, Australia it won the Honorary Mention Foreign Film Award and at Global Independent Film Awards, United States, it won Best Under 18 Filmmaker Award. Her father, named Jaibir Singh Arya, is a Civil Services Officer in Haryana and her mother, named Minakshi Arya, is a veterinary surgeon. She has a younger brother too.

She is a person with a very high level of I.Q. Currently, she is studying at the University of Minnesota (Software Engineering). In grade 9th and 10th,she used to study at Canadian International School for which she got full scholarship of $63,962 on the basis of her merit. She has always actively participated in many science and maths competitions. She took part in the Olympiads like American Mathematics Competition, Indian National State Physics Olympiad, Cayley Galois Math Contest (University of Waterloo). Through Coursera, she joined many online courses offered by University of Virginia and Stanford University.

She started working for films from the age of 12. Her first animated short film was “ZAP”, shown at Denmark and Serbia film festivals. After working for “Viborg” she started working for her own project which was released in the year 2015 (Adventures of Malia). She was praised by the team of “CINE Golden Eagle Awards”. She is also trained in figure skating and roller skating. She also likes advocacy and writing. She also represented India in Winter Special Olympics world Games in figure skating and won a gold medal, 2-silver and 2-bronze medals that year.

She herself has made her own official website. She also likes debating and speaking in front of audience. She also has a lot of interest in paintings, visual arts and modern arts. Her art works have even been showcased at various exhibitions and art galleries like “Sync” and “Tvak” to name a few. She won “Achieve Thru Art Singapore” which is an international competition in the year 2013. To enhance her skills in painting, with software engineering, she is doing a diploma from Rabindra Bharti University in India. She has also volunteered in various national schemes like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Pulse Polio Immunization Program, etc.
