Indian cartoonist & caricaturist, motivational speaker and an author, K V Gautam was born on 15th December 1979 in Delhi. Gautam started drawing cartoons since his childhood. The self-instructed cartoonist got his cartoons on political issues published in monthly cartoon watch and various journals like ‘Khojbin’ (meaning Manhunt) while he was completing his graduation. As an Economics graduate and a Mass Communication post graduate, he started his career with the daily ‘Dainik Jagran’. His focus was on the social and political issues of our country. He also worked with newspapers like ‘Aaj and Aryavarta’, ‘Hindustan Times’, ‘Indian Nation’ and also illustrated more than fifty to sixty books covering various topics including sports, biographies, cinema, management and other variety of subjects.

Gautam illustrated the book ‘The Eternal Saga of Love: Devdas’. He also drew caricatures of travel trade personalities for the travel trade journal ‘The World of Travel and Tourism’. He recently illustrated the book ‘The Power of Humour at the Workplace’ by K Sathyanarayana. He has received the first prize in Poster Contest on the theme ‘Population Control’ organized by the State Government Population Education Fund. He received a Certificate of Merit in a national contest of International Poster Contest on the theme ‘Population and our World’ jointly conducted by UNFPA and NCERT. One of the top five engineering colleges of India, BITS Pilani, invited Gautam to arrange a Cartoon Workshop in 2008. IIT Kanpur had also invited him to conduct a Caricature Workshop. In 2011 November, he was invited by Salwan Public School, Delhi to give away prizes to students at an inter-school contest. Around forty schools had participated in the competition.
He has also judged several cartoon contests at St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. He was a panelist on NewsX on its program ‘Speak Out India’ to discuss the controversy surrounding the cartoon about Bhimarao Ambedkar. He was the subject of a documentary named ‘Comic Fingers’, which received great reviews and got screened at 16 International Film Festivals in 2016. Gautam delivered a speech at TEDx JUIT at Solan, Himachal Pradesh. He got featured in current affairs magazine Tehelka, All India Radio and websites like Merinews.com, Techgoss.com, etc. He founded the Delhi-based company Delnex Media Private Limited which runs the shopping site Tiffly.com and is the Director of the company. He had also launched a financial portal ‘Convixer.com’ and an entertainment portal ‘Fundoofun.com’. He is the producer and director of an upcoming Hindi comedy movie ‘Hum Honge Kaamyaab’ based on corruption.
