Shikha Makan, born on October 25, is an independent film director and screenwriter. She has a master's in psychology from Delhi University and was a radio jockey on Delhi FM. She is associated with the Japan Foundation’s JENESYS programme and has previously worked as a researcher for BBC Channel 4. She also is one of the first women directors to successfully secure a top spot in the advertising industry.
She wrote and directed the TV movie Bachelor Girls in 2016 and the short film Linger in 2010. She has also worked on TV series like Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahi (2003), an adaptation of the Colombian Telenovela Yo Soy Betty, on Sony Television, and Unpaused: Naya Safar (2022). Her social film Bachelor Girls premiered at the CAAM Fest, International Asian American Film Festival and was released on Netflix. She has founded the content company Savera Talkies and has also co-founded the Ad Film production House Kiss Films. She also earned the column of Interview of the Week on Platform Magazine.
