Shailendra Jha is an Indian writer, director, and showrunner. He has studied at Kirori Mal College, Delhi University. He has worked for various series and non-fiction shows like current affairs shows, features, and documentaries. He has worked for several big companies, such as Disney Hotstar, Aaj Tak, UTV, B4U Entertainment, and many more.

He has worked in this industry for over two and a half decades and has much experience in content creation and curation. His expertise is vast, and he boasts an impressive portfolio of notable works, including: As a writer, he has worked on the Hindi series Eclipse (2021), which is called Grahan in Hindi, and he also worked as an additional crew member in the Hindi series Hello Mini Story soon >> Read More... As a director and producer, he has worked on the BBC's coverage of the Indian Budget; he was the creative director of the Hindi serial Kyun Hota Hai Pyar on Star Plus. He also launched and directed the shows Hardtalk India and Face to Face on the BBC. He was the former executive editor and head of Tez at TV Today Network, where he launched and managed Tez. He was the head of brand content for Life OK, and as the commissioning head of Life OK, he launched the Hindi television serial Hamaari Bahu Rajnikaant and May I Come In Madam?

As a programming project head in the Life OK show Super Cops vs. Super Villains, he was the former executive editor and head of output at Aaj Tak. He was also the commissioning and programming head at Disney Star. In his career, he and his shows have also won and been nominated for several awards. He has won the Best Adapted Story Screenwriters Association Award. His series Eclipse/Grahan was nominated for the Filmfare OTT Awards in 2021 for the Technical Award for Best Screenplay (Adapted) and other seven categories, and it also won gold at Promax.

The short film Tumhare Bina has won and been nominated for multiple awards, such as the Indo-French International Film Festival 2022, the Pune Short Film Festival 2022, the official selection at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival 2023, and many more nationally and internationally. He has also trained television journalists in India and Pakistan. He often shares his work experience with people interested in journalism and pursuing journalism through webinars and events.
