Born in Mumbai, creative genius Satyajit Bhatkal is the brains behind the nationwide hit show Satyamev Jayate. He is an Indian director and television star. The son of Laila Bhatkal, a teacher who works with kids with special needs and Ramdas Bhatkal, a leading publisher. He practised law for over a decade. As a student, he was intensively involved in social and political issues. He often wrote extensively on them. Due to this, he had something to say to the society, and during the middle thirties, he left law to pursue his directorial dreams.
He currently resides in Mumbai with his wife, Svati Chakravarthy Bhatkal. He has two children, Nishant Bhatkal and Nayantara Bhatkal Nayantara Bhatkal is a Hindi music composer. The English version of the film Chale Chalo called “Madness in the Desert” won a National Award and was selected to be previewed at the Locarno Film Festival. He wrote the book “The Spirit of Lagaan”, which was one of the bestsellers in the year 2003. This book was translated into three Indian languages.
