Ahmed Faiyaz is an amazingly talented writer, author and director of short films. Born and brought up in Bangalore, Ahmed is a self described geek for comics and novels. He grew up on novels and comic books like Asterix, Tintin, Archie, Spiderman and various other superhero tales. By the age of about 10, Ahmed had already finished books like Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Oliver Twist, Adventures of Huckleberry Fin, Moby Dick and many other great novels. The addiction he had developed for reading was celebrated by both his parents, they couldn’t be more happier that their child was becoming such a learned person from his childhood.

His parents got him a membership to the closest libraries they had near their home, and almost on all the weekends, Ahmed would be there, reading a new book or finishing up an old one. This passion for books was much appreciated by all of Ahmed’s friends and relatives, soon he started to take his friends to the libraries. Soon after completing his schooling, Ahmed did not instantly get into writing books, in his college days he started writing novels and short stories, but before becoming an author he finished his chartered accountancy courses and even right now he is a very successful CA and also an management consultant.

After establishing himself with a very well respected career, he finally decided to pursue his passion and made his debut as an author with his book Love, Life and all that Jazz. This is a coming of age story of 4 youths living in Mumbai. His next novel was Another Chance, a twisted romantic novel centred around the life of a very desirable but fragile women who has to choose between two lovers. He then went on to release various other novels like Down The Road( which was a compilation novel of various sort stories) and then he teamed up with other authors and came up with Urban Shots, Urban Shots: Bright Lights, Urban Shots: Crossroads, Urban Shots: Love Collection.

These are anthology novels consisting of numerous short stories written by different writers and authors. Ahmed has also directed two feature films, both based on his novels. The Graveyard Shift is centred around 25 characters from Mumbai who work in the graveyard shift in their companies, and the other was All The Lost Souls, centred around Saira, who has a drug problems which hampers her relationship with her boyfriend.
