He played for about twenty years and then announced his retirement from Cricket in November in the year 2014. He was the selector of the India Under-19 team during ICC Under-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka. He was also the Chairman of the Junior Selection Committee in 2008 for the India Under-19. The team India won the cup during this period. Sanjeev also appeared in the Sony Entertainment Channel’s Comedy Nights Bachao.
