Kannedhirey Thondrinal revolved around the subject of love and friendships. With the Tamil censor board granting the film a ‘U’ certificate, Kannedhirey Thondrinal released on 11 September 1998 to favorable reviews.

So, he decided to film action sequences in a separate set. Ravichandran announced “Coffee Shop” as his next motion picture with Nandha. However, they renamed it to Urchagam to be eligible for the grants by the government since the administration required the project to have a Tamil name. In 2016, Ravichandran worked with his nephew, Raj Bharath for the first time in Natpadhiganam 79. Apart from acting, Ravichandran also allowed Bharath to assist him for post-production work as well.Ravichandran also gave youngsters a chance to showcase their acting skills in Natpadhiganam 79.

However, the film opened to a lukewarm reception from the audience as they criticized its screenplay.
