Oken Amakcham

Oken Amakcham is a prominent actor and film and music director from India. He is active in the Manipuri films. He earned his graduation degree from Dhanamanjuri College, Imphal. Right after his graduation, Oken Amakcham began his career in the performing arts and theatre under the guidance of theatre personalities such as Birjit Ngangomba, G.C. Tongbra, Sanakhya Ibotombi, Kangabam Birbabu etc. Later he got admission to the Government Music College in Manipur. However, his film career started with the movie Iche Sakhi in the year of 1986. Oken Amakcham directed his first movie in the year of 1992, however, previously he had directed video films such as Urit Naapangbee, Laidhi Lubaak etc. Apart from that, he has given music direction for various films. In the year of 2019, Oken Amakcham directed a non-featured movie, Raseswari Pala. Oken Amakcham has served in numerous movies like Urit Naapangbee (1987) produced by Thoungamba & Thouyangba for P.K. Films, video film Ashiba Thawaigee Mami (1998) which is based on the novel, Luhonglabi (2004), Amamba Lambee (2010) which is an adaptation of a play and musical play Hey Ishei (2018) etc. One of his celluloid films Aroiba Bidai (1999) was featured at the 4th Manipur State Film Awards.
