A nomadic artist, Nikita Deshpande was born on 28th October 1991 and earned her degree in English Literature from St. Xavier's College in Mumbai and has written copy, screenplays, and poems. She is a sporadic filmmaker who has worked with notable directors on films, including Fukrey (2013), Mirzya (2016), and Clouds. She has short stories published in anthologies like Grandpa Tales (Scholastic), Magical Women (Hachette), and A Case of Indian Marvels (Aleph Book Company), as well as a poem in The World That Belongs to Us (Harper Collins).
She also wrote and directed the commercial for Crash the Pepsi IPL (2015), for which she was awarded the Vermont Studio Center fellowship. Anthologies like Magical Women and Grandpa Tales, as well as in online platforms like Buzzfeed, The Rumpus, Scroll and Grazia, and many others have featured her writings. She is currently a resident of Mumbai and is the content head at Flickbay. Her debut book is called ‘It Must've Been Something He Wrote’.
