Nandan Kudhyadi

Nandan Kudhyadi is a cinematographer and director from India. Nandan Kudhyadi has won three honors for his superb cinematic representation in the docu-drama on the mathematical genius Srinivasa Ramanujan: The Mathematician and his Legacy at the seventh National Science Film Festival. The film received The Bronze Beaver Award and Technical Excellence Award too. The same film had received the Jury Award at the India International Science Festival 2016 in December. Kudhyadi, an FTII graduate, has directed over 65 documentaries. His documentaries have received top national awards and have appeared at film festivals worldwide, including Cinema du Reel, Tokyo, Brussels, Vancouver, Pusan, Hawaii, and Karlovy Vary.

Kudhyadi's film talks about current topics with fresh viewpoints and a deep understanding of Indian culture, science, and society. The enigma of Ramanujan was the very first documentary production created by NCSTC — the National Council for Science and Technology Communication — to honor the famous mathematician's birth centenary. In India, this docu-drama pioneered the way for the genre. The video was entirely shot at actual locations, except for Trinity College in Cambridge, using authentic information that was meticulously researched.
