Romi Meitei is a filmmaker and lyricist working in the Manipuri film industry. He was born on September 19, 1976, in Manipur. Romi has been directing feature and non-feature Manipuri films for twenty years. He has received good recognition for his contribution to the Manipuri film industry. Apart from being involved in the film industry, Romi also likes to do social work. He is the chairman of the Mami Thawan Foundation, which is an NGO that provides many services to the needy. A few films directed by Romi that won awards at the Indian and international film festivals include Noong Amadi Yeroom (2011), Yours Faithfully (2018), Motsillaba Mingsel (2019), and Cease Baby’s Whimpering Cry (2010).
