Lavlin Thadani

Lavlin Thadani works as a director and actress in the main. She is also the chairperson of Muskan Productions, a media production house in New Delhi. It was inaugurated in 1992. Her flicks recount a range of motifs from social issues to films on health and education and corporate life. She has also produced films and documentaries throwing light on women’s and children’s issues, health awareness, foreign policy, and history. She started her career in her teens as a broadcaster and journalist. She then worked for numerous organizations such as ‘Doordarshan,’ ‘Ministry of HRD,’ Department of Women and Child Development,’ ‘National AIDS Control Organisation,’ ‘Ministry of External Affairs,’ ‘Ministry of Rural Development,’ ‘Directorate of Audio-Visual Publicity,’ ‘The British Council and Transport Corporation of India amongst others.

She initiated the breakfast shoe on “Doordarshan” and anchored several shows. She has also interviewed dignitaries like Lata Mangeshkar, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, IK Gujral, and other famous personalities. She made history with a 4-day film festival showcasing 17 of her films. She has also served as National Media Consultant with WHO, and as a freelance creative photographer in solo exhibitions, to her credit sponsored by Mr Ibrahim Alkazi’s Art Heritage at Triveni Kala Sangam, New Delhi, and Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai. She has also been a member of the Central Board of Film Certification. She was also presented with the “Great Asian Women Achievers Award” by Bhartiya Cultural and Social Development Association promoting “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Abhiyan.” Lavlin has a deep fondness for poems and literature. She holds Ph.D. in Russian Literature from Moscow State University. She has also written several books one of them being “My Soul Flower.”

It was a collection of poetries written by her, launched on July 22, 2018. Media giants like Mr HK Dua, Mr Venkat Narayan, Mr Amit Khanna, poets like Dr Sukrita Paul, Dr Renee Ramchan, and Former Union Minister and Prolific Writer Mr Arif Mohammed Khan honored the show with their presence. She is a famous kathak dancer who depicted the spirit of the poem through her art. Sumit Tandon, a Theatre Artist, and Former Doordarshan Newsreader read out selected poems with his personalized touch and won hearts. Her poems reflect the depth of human nature. Lavlin is an ambitious and skilled lady. She has worked in many lines. Her films have been screened in various film festivals across the globe. Despite every work she has done, poetry remains her first love. She enjoys writing them a lot and would continue writing them.
