Jyoti Sarup is an Indian film and serial director. He is also a producer. He was born on 20 August 1954 in
. He got Diploma Degree from National School of Drama. The director completed his Engineering from Film and Television Institute of India. Jyoti Sarup came to Mumbai to try his luck as an actor in 1978.
He didn’t do well in acting as he never had any experience or exposure to acting. Later, he started to do a job as a Chief Assistant Director. He was working for Late Mr.
. After working as an actor in few films and serials he realized his career is behind the camera. So he started as the Chief Assistant to some directors like Shri Shakti Sharka and Shri Atma Ram etc. Jyoti Sarup began directing. His first direction was for a Telefilm which involved Shekar Suman. He then directed and acted in Inspector Navin Mohan Film Series. His major achievement as a director came from Buniyaad Tv Serial.
He has also directed TeleFilm ”Sandhya Chayya” with
and Sulbha Deshpande. The other telefilms done by him include people like Navin Nichole and Mohan Ghokhale. “Sandya Chayya ” gave him an opportunity to became a full-time director of TV Serial Buniyaad. Jyoti Sarup is the first person to receive a National Award for Film “Bub” which is Kashmir based movie. He has worked and directed about 40 projects until now. He has received Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film made after 38 years at National Integration in Kashmir.
This amazing and talented director has written many books. His writing work includes “The Art of Acting” and “The King of the film Jungle.” The second book is yet to release. He has directed and edited a movie of 96 minutes to 36 minutes for audiences of India. He has also worked for Sony TV as Head of the Production. His extreme talent brought the channel from Rating No.9 to Rating No.2. He has worked for various other channels and production houses. He has been a dubbing director for many films too including “The Inconvenient Truth” for which he received an Oscar Award.
Jyoti Sarup is an expert in directing and coordinating live events. While at Sony TV, he started a live show named as “The Lata Mangeshkar Live.” He has directed “chorni,”, a movie which was hit of 1982. His awards include All India Lion Club award for directing Buniyaad, Indian Cine Goers Award for best comedy serial of the year direction – “
,” Indian Cine Goers Award for best soap opera that is again for Buniyaad and finally Bombay Films Award for Tadap Telefilm.
The talented and highly experienced director is looking forward to directing another TV Serial of 26 Episodes called as “Deepak Phir Bhi Jalta Raha.” He is going to direct a feature movie after the TV Serial followed by a film called “
