Jaya Misra

Jaya Misra is an Indian Writer, Producer, Film Maker, and Creative Director who predominantly works in the Bollywood entertainment industry. She was born on 30 January and was raised in the city of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. Jaya Misra’s mother’s name is Mridula Misra. The writer is married and has a daughter named Gia. Jaya Misra completed her schooling from Loreto Convent High School in Lucknow. She has been interested in film and fiction from a very young age. Jaya Misra first began working as an assistant producer at the AV Workshop in New Delhi. Then she moved to Images India, where she worked on programs like ‘Mashoo’ for TVI, ‘National Parliamentary Quiz’ for Doordarshan, and ‘Capital View’ for IN Channel.

In 1995, Jaya Mishra joined Business India Television as an associate producer of the documentary cell. During this time, she was responsible for many famous and socially relevant documentaries such as ‘Hai Akhtari, Remembering Begum Akhtar,’ ‘Uttaradhikar, The Inheritance,’ ‘Najayaz,’ ‘Tawaif,’ and ‘Aids Lies & Documentaries.’ As a freelancer, she has worked on ‘Poll-98,’ which aired on Doordarshan and BBC.
