Deepak Mahaan is an Indian director, writer, sports commentator, and anchor. Deepak Mahaan was born and raised in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He went to St. Xavier’s Senior Secondary School in Jaipur from 1964 to 1973. Being an active self, he took part in various competitions, including dramatics, debates, singing, Cricket, etc. and bagged awards too. He graduated from the University of Rajasthan with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons), English Literature. Further, Deepak Mahaan pursued Law from the same venue.

Following his Postgraduate degree completion, Deepak Mahaan worked as a Senior Executive in IDBI Bank for about ten years. In 1986, Deepak Mahaan made his entry into the entertainment world. Shortly, Deepak Mahaan joined the Image Makers company and got to feature as a writer, director, and producer. As a director, he has directed around 25 documentaries, short films, and telefilms.

One of his documentaries, “River Reborn,” which focuses on the revival of the Arvari river in Rajasthan, received appreciations from Prince Charles during his visit to India. His short film “Irony” got awarded the Merit certificate during the Creative International Film Festival 2016. Also, the film got screen at several film festivals, including Asia International Filmfest, in 2016. Some of his other short films and films that got screened in film festivals are “The Victim,” “Common Man’s Fate,” “Struggle for Water,” “Behind the Glitter,” and “The Wonder Foot and Limb.” Deepak Mahaan has written the script of several short films and documentaries for various prestigious companies, including Airtel, Coco-Cola, and more.

His work “Journey of Joy” for Coco-Cola also received appreciation from the company. From One-Day International tests to Olympics, he has covered several events. Besides being a film columnist for newspapers like The Hindu, Jansatta, and Rajasthan Patrika, Deepak Mahaan is the author of the books “Yaadon Ka Kaarvan” and “Mukkaddas Gunaah.” Deepak Mahaan also is visiting faculty to many prestigious institutions.
