He explored more and more; may it be Bollywood or Hollywood. In 2005, His first documentary 'four- step plan' was funded by his friends and family. It was about the plagiarism prevailing in Indian cinema since 1940. He could not launch it officially due to lack of copy write though it was received well and he got huge media attention. When he was 21, he wrote and directed a play Grey elephants in Denmark.

Its screening was held at the Prithvi Theater and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Mumbai. His debut film Court is a wonderful expression of Indian cinema. Court being a multilingual movie; took him about a year to write the script. The idea for Court came to Tamhane in 2011, during his visit to film festivals with his short film titled, Six Strands. Six Strands is the story of a lonely, mysterious woman running a tea plantation in a place named Khagambari, producing the world’s most elusive and expensive tea.
