Bollywood has seen many prominent directors walk on by and one such director (assistant) who walked through Bollywood leaving a lasting mark upon the path he took is Arif Shamsi. He has done various films, undertaking various roles including that of an assistant director and that of a miscellaneous crew.
He has completed three films under the role of assistant director. They were: “Bride and Prejudice” (assistant director), “Jaane Jigar” (chief assistant director) and “Zakhmi Dil” (associate director). He was also fortunate enough to be a part of the film “Izzatdaar”, in which he took up the role of a production manager.
Arif Shamsi had to face loads of hardships to reach the position that he is at now. Climbing the hill towards success, he has stumbled upon small and large stones. He never completely falls as he is determined to achieve his dreams- to direct and release a film of his own.
However big a hurdle he has to jump, he would do so. And what gives him the drive to do so is that one heartwarming dream. Whatever film he did, he did it with such energy and an eagerness to learn that it amazed everyone on set.
Every move taken by the director and all other members of the particular set were keenly looked upon by Arif. For him, every move they make is a huge lesson to be kept in mind. And when finally a day does come, he will put all of that he learned to use.
