Anoop Khajuria is an Indian Television Broadcast Journalist and Filmmaker. He is best known for directing the documentary film 'Whispers of Warming,' which won the prestigious 'Golden Beaver Award' in the 8th National Science Film Festival held in 2018. Anoop did his schooling at S.D Sabha Higher Secondary School, Jammu.
He completed his degree in BioSciences and graduated from Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu. He further did his Masters in Botany with specialization in Ecology at the University of Jammu. He is married and currently resides in New Delhi, India. Apart from Hindi, he can speak English, Punjabi, and Dogri. Anoop Khajuria joined Doordarshan India in 1988.
He has been in Broadcast Media for over three decades. Throughout his illustrious career, he has served as a producer, writer, and reporter on the Television. He is currently a senior producer at Doordarshan India. Anoop has been creating and addressing shows on Climate Change since 2010. In 2018, he directed and produced a documentary film called Whispers of Warming, which focused on climate change frightening the livelihood of Himalayan inhabitants. He won Best film director on Climate Change for this documentary at Krabi Thailand.
In 2019, he won the 'Golden Beaver Award' for the second time for his documentary The Golden Thread, based on the destruction caused to Muga Maggots due to climate change. He also won the 'IHCAP CMSVATAVARAN' award for his work. In an interview, he mentioned that he wanted to explore the effects of climate change in non-urban and village areas, as he realizes that carbon accumulation is well dense in urban areas. Anoop enjoys traveling alone.
He loves interacting with the locals during his filming. Through his social media, he promotes the importance of climate change and urges people to contribute in any form they can to mitigate the disaster.
