Aditya Bhattacharya was born in 1965. He works as a film director & screenwriter, and is recognized for his feature film, Raakh in 1989. He made his debut as an actor in Shyam Benegal's Mandi (1983.) His first directed movie was the film Raakh in 1989. The film didn't performed well at the box office; however, it was nominated for three National Film Awards, and won the Best Directorial Debut Award in the Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards.
He has also worked as a photojournalist. Then, he shifted to Rome in the year 1988, where he worked in Italian films and in some music videos. He was later married to
