She has been trained in Jaipur style her guru Geetanjali Lal. Dance is like meditation for her and, she practices to work on stamina, on how to improve the weak points and better strong points. Vidha and her husband Abhimanyu Lal performed together, mostly. Both of them have learned this art form under the guidance of their Guru and Guide Smt Geetanjali Lal at the National Institute of Kathak, New Delhi. They are A-grade artists from Delhi Doordarshan and impaneled artists of I.C.C.R., Delhi.

They have performed in major dance festivals in India and abroad such as Saptak Music And Dance Festival 2019, Swar Samrat Festival 2019, Kolkata, Sabras Music And Dance Festival By Kirana Ghara Music Foundation, Delhi 2019, Gandharva Mahotsava, Banaras 2019, International Dance Festival Sri Lanka 2019, Milap Festival, Liverpool 2019, Dance India Asia Pacific, Singapore At Esplanade Theatres On The Bay 2018 and many more. They also conduct regular workshops and demonstrations. They do not practice together but prefer to perform alongside each other. They have played to Carnatic kritis, such as ‘Krishna nee begane,’ ‘Bho Shambo,’ and a Thillana, accompanied by South Indian instruments, for their performance in South Africa.

Vidha has earned an endorsement in the media and from specialists for her brilliant solo performances on Indian and International stages. Vidha Lal was felicitated with the very prestigious Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for 2017 by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, in 2018. Vidha excels in doing the spins. She has her name registered in the Guinness Book of World Records for taking the most Kathak spins (103) in one minute and can even do reverse spins. She has also received the Sri Jaidev Rashtriya Yuva Pratibha Puraskar in 2014, Nrityajayantika Award, the 8th Devdasi National Award, and Kalpana Chawala Excellence Award in 2013, and Sri Krishana Gana Sabha Endownment Award in 2010 in Chennai.

Vidha Lal is the founder and director of A.V. Dance Company Kathak Resonance and provides training at the Devi Durga Kathak Sansthan, a dance institute in New Delhi. Guru Geetanjali Lal is the Director. Their dance company Kathak Resonance aims to create a unique platform for learners, where they can learn then avail themselves of employment after completion. She also plans to launch her personalized clothing line for Kathak dancers.
