Satyaprakash Upadhyay is the Founder and Director of Narrative Pictures, established in 2011 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, which works on the production of short films, music videos, songs, corporate videos, school videos, CSR videos, and corporate documentaries. He debuted as a documentary feature film director from Bunkar - The Last of the Varanasi Weavers, released in 2018. 

The documentary got a nomination in the Indian Panorama at the International Film Festival of India (2018) and in the Feature Film at the Jaipur International Film Festival (2019). He also won the Best Debutant Director (Documentary) at the Jaipur International Film Festival (2019) and the Best Film (Arts and Culture) Non-Feature Films Award at the 66th National Films Award (2019) for this film. He has also produced Neer (2018), a short film nominated at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerela (2018) and won the Special Jury Mention Award at the Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival held in 2018.

His other works as a Writer and Director include the short film It's Not the End (2013). He was the Assistant Director of the Children of War (2014). He also worked as a Director in a TV mini-series, Epicpedia - Epic Digital Originals (2021) and as an Animation Producer in Adipurush (2023).
