Rajkanya Baruah

Rajkanya Baruah is an Indian model and pageant contestant. She is most popularly known as the winner of FBB Femina Miss India Kolkata 2016. Rajkanya comes from Guwahati in Assam. Her career as a fashion model began when she was only 17. She worked for many brand catalogue shoots while also pursuing an MBA degree at the Royal School of Business. Besides fashion, she is also a skilled dancer who has trained in various western and classical forms. In 2010, she won the title of the second runner up at the ‘Eclectic Model Hunt’ as well as the ‘Dabur Gulabari Fresh Face of the Northeast.’

Following her success in pageants, she moved to Mumbai to take part in the big leagues of the fashion industry. She participated in the NDTV Kingfisher Calendar Girl Hunt in 2012 and was one of the finalists at the event. Her biggest win was at the FBB Femina Miss India beauty contest, where she was crowned the title of ‘Miss Kolkata‘ in 2016. The diva participated in the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ project, where she helped educate children in schools and colleges about Cyber Crime.

She began the #ClickSafe campaign to raise awareness about online safety and security. Her career has been marked by over fifty photoshoots and ramp walks, and she was also the official model for the lingerie company, ‘Triumph.’ Rajkanya also took on work as an actress for numerous regional Assamese television dramas and Bollywood movies. She was featured in promotional videos for Bindass and MTV channels and was the brand ambassador for the north-eastern region’s VLCC campaign. She also collaborated with the company CoWorks as their Community Specialist for a couple of years.
