Toshi Sabri is an Indian singer and music composer who is best known for his various music direction works & his stint with a popular singing reality show called ‘Amul Star Voice of India’ (2007). He is a Punjab- born Rajasthan boy who gets his lineage from a musical family (Gharana).
His father and brother have been accomplished musicians and them to gather, share a long history of association with the classical music of India. He left his home to become a well- known singer, he came down to Mumbai and started his share of struggle.
Due to a low educational qualification, he struggled a lot to find a decent living standard. He sang where ever he got the opportunity to sing. He was quite confident about his abilities as a singer and ultimately he got a chance to appear on the music reality show ‘Amul Star Voice of India’. This show proved to be a turning point in his career as he became an overnight star, he stood 4th among all contestants.
He successively appeared in a few shows such as ‘Ustaadon ke Ustaad’ and ‘
Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star’, in which he was praised by the viewers for his singing abilities. During this time, he made a leap forward with singing for films. One of his songs ‘Maahi’ in the movie called ‘Raaz- The Mystery Continues’ (2009).
The song was composed by him along with his sibling and co-contestant called
Sharib Sabri. His struggle period seems to be over as after ‘Maahi’, he never looked back. He got busy composing music for a lot of movies such as ‘
Jashnn’ (2009), ‘
Ghost’ (2011), ‘
Yamla Pagla Deewana’ (2013) & Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ (2014). He composed a few songs in both of the movies.
The recent adaptation of the famous song ‘Main Tenu Samjhawan Ki’, which was sung by '
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan' was composed by him. He has sung in more than 15 movies & composed the music for around 12 movies till now. Toshi has recently participated in the reality singing show called ‘Music Ka Maha Muqabla’, which was aired on the Star Plus. With this level of zeal and talent, he seems to be making a good mark in the world of entertainment.
