Dhurbajyoti Phukan is an Indian music composer and producer, popular amongst the audience for his work on the soundtracks of movies like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Barfi, Dhoom 3, Jab Harry Met Seghal, etc. Mostly known for his predominant involvement in the musical albums of Bollywood movies, he is also referred to as DJ Phukan. Born on 17th June 1964 in Dibrugarh, Assam to Atulananda Phukan, a civil engineer, and Amriya Phukan, a housewife, Dhurbajyoti took advantage of the musical atmosphere at his home to turn music into career. Both his mother and grandfather used to sing professionally.

He is currently married to singer Shaswati Phukan. After completing his schooling from Moran Higher Secondary School, he took admission in Cotton College, Guwahati but soon shifted to Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati. In no time, he saw himself graduating from the Assam Engineering College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. During the initial stages of his career, Dhurbajyoti assisted music directors like Bhupen Uzir and Sher Choudhri.
