Jeet Ganguly is one of the most prominent and active music composers and music directors in the Bollywood and Tollywood film industry. His birth name was Chandrajeet Ganguly but he uses a shortened name in the industry. He was born on 24 May 1977 in Mumbai. His family later moved to Baranagar in Kolkata. His father was Kali Ganguly, a renowned musician in West Bengal. It was under his father whom Jeet was trained in classical music.

His training started early on at the age of three. He was also trained by his paternal aunt, Shibani Roychowdhury, in classical music. Jeet completed his schooling from Baranagore Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama High School. Then he completed his under graduation degree from the University of Calcutta.
