Anand Chitragupt

This great personality’s real name is Chitragupt Shrivastava. Anand Chitragupt is a name given by his fans. He took his birth on November 16, 1917, at Chapra, Bihar. He is popularly known as Chitragupt. He was born in a village. Later on, he became a light of the village.

Not only Anand was a music director, but also, he excels in education. Before getting into music, he was a lecturer in Patna. In Indian Cinema, he was the debatable highly qualified music director. He has done Post-graduation in both Economics and Journalism. He has command over his voice. He left his job and moved to Mumbai to pursue his career, destination, and passion. 

Anand’s love for composing music was seen since childhood. Initially, he assisted some music directors to compose music. In 1946, it was his first step stone as a music director independently. Besides being a singer, Anand was also a music composer. In 1968, he got a heart attack and after that, he became weak and got a paralysis attack. But successfully he recovered from that. After that, he also composed and directed many songs. He passed away in the year 1991. 

Chitragupt always gives a rocking performance on stage. Chitragupt left his guru because his guru had an approach to western music. Chitragupt wanted to give India films more importance. 

Chitragupt’s sons Anand-Milind made a duo of music composers, and they are also famous.
