Gursimran Khamba

Gursimran Khamba, popularly known as 'Khamba', is a stand-up performer and writer in India. He is famous for his satirical and witty materials on current affairs and politics in India. He was born and brought up in Delhi. He studied journalism at the Delhi University's College of Arts and Commerce. There, he was a part of the United Students, a student group in DU. During his under graduation years, he worked as an active member of AISEC. Khamba was also part of an anti-reservation group. During that time, he met Dr. Abdul Kalam, who was the President of India then, and presented a petition against reservations.

He did his post-grad in Tata Institute of Social Sciences which is situated in Mumbai and has an M.A in Media and Culture Studies course. Khamba was bedridden for about six months as he had contracted tuberculosis. It was at this time in his life that he explored his potential in the field of comedy and started writing blogs. His blog, named Khamba's Blog, was very famous among readers and soon, people started noticing his work.

Before going to Delhi, he also started a radio show called The Marc Maron Show. He is also a weekly writer in DNA newspaper and Firstpost. Khamba co-founded and hosted the AIB podcast, which was the first ever comedy podcast in India. He came into the spotlight through this podcast that he found along with Tanmay Bhat in Mumbai. 'Its Your Fault' was the first video, and it got, so far, about 40 lakh views.

His AIB debut was in September 2013. He has also performed at the Royal Turd in Mumbai. His TV credits include Jay Hind, The Indian Television Awards and MTV Rock- The Vote.
