Dhananjay Kulkarni is a renowned Indian Cinematographer, who is working predominantly in the Bollywood and Marathi film industry. He lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He has completed his education from Giristhan, Mahabaleshwar, and S.P. College, Pune. Working as a freelancer in the field of Photography since 1991, Dhananjay has gained immense knowledge and experience in shooting on 35mm, wide screen, 16mm Film Format, Digital HD, Digi-beta, Beta, DV camera on video. This polymath cinematographer also happens to be an Actor and a Director. He has directed a Marathi movie Saanjparva.

The Marathi film Kaasav fetched him several awards for the Best Cinematography, including Golden Lotus National Award, Zee Gaurav Award, and Kala Sanskruti Puraskar in 2017. Kaasav was awarded The National film award for the Best feature film. The story throws light on the necessity of mental health among the youth.
 Apart from movies, Dhananjay has also worked for several Documentaries, Television shows, Commercials, and Corporate films. Some of the popular commercials include REEBOK, MAGGI, IODEX BALM, CHAVANPRASH, AERIAL, PITAMBARI, etc. He is known to have shot several popular TV shows like CID, Parde Ke Peeche, Yeh Nazdikiyan, Aatish, Saaya, Hum Pardesi Ho Gaye, and many more.
He has worked as the Director of Photography in Kuala Lumpur for a year, where he shot for four different programs, including a live stage show. Shooting for a variety of quizzes and game shows in Dhaka (Bangladesh), Sydney (Australia), Cape Town (South Africa), Dubai, and Madagascar adds to his long list of work experience.
He is the recipient of the Hero Honda Indian Television Academy Award (2006), and Indian Television Academy Award (2007) for his Best Videography.
