Karishma Chavan is a well- known Indian choreographer and dancer. Karishma was born on 21st March in 1986 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Karishma was always passionate about dance, and she started dancing since the age of six. Karishma has a degree of BA in Political Science from the Ramnarain Ruia College, Mumbai. At the age of twelve, she got professional training in dance from the Shiamak Davar's Institute for Performing Arts. Karishma also became a part of the Salsa India, Terence Lewis Dance Academy, and Broadway Dance Centre. Karishma was also an active member of "Female Fatales" - an all-girls dancing crew. Karishma is a living example of how one can cross hurdles to achieve whatever they want. Karishma has faced many rejections due to her weight. But she overcame obstacles and proved herself. She gained recognition after participating in the famous dancing reality show, Indian Dance League, in the year 2009 and stood as the winner of the show. She was the part of Kareena's team- Western Yodhas.
She has also appeared in shows like Jhalak Dikhlaja and Nach Baliye. Karishma got featured in Kailash Kher's music video named Kathagan in the year 2012. In the year 2013, Karishma marked her acting debut with the film Remo D'Souza's ABCD. Karishma laid the foundation of her career as an assistant choreographer in films like Gali Gali Mai Chor Hai and Shangai.
Dolly Ki Doli
is the film with which she marked her debut as the choreographer. She has choreographed for films like Kick (2014), Khoobsurat (2014), Laali ki Shaadi mai Ladoo Deewana (2017), Tumhari Sulu (2017), and many more. Karishma became one of the judges of the known reality show Dance + Season 5. She is fond of traveling. Karishma has also organized many workshops to encourage talented dancers. Karishma believes that life is very unpredictable, and one should go with the flow.
